Curiosity, Exploration, and Learning Are the Fuel That Lights Creativity

“I am an explorer and a storyteller.”

If you’ve visited my About page (and if you’re here, you probably have), you know this much about me. At my core, I am an explorer. That translates into a love of the outdoors and the mountains. You’ll usually find me snowboarding, hiking, camping, backpacking, and mountain biking. I love visiting National Parks. That desire for exploration, that longing for adventure, is a wellspring for creativity.

I’m also a naturally curious person who loves to learn new things. I love getting lost in the unknown and making discoveries. I have an innate curiosity about the world around me. As a creative person and artist, I crave that space to broaden my horizons and feed my soul. It’s emotionally and mentally fulfilling.

There’s this cycle to my creativity that I’ve never noticed until now. When connecting those dots, I’ve found that it starts with my curiosity, leading to exploration, and finally, that creative spark that fuels my work. I derive inspiration from learning about this incredible planet we call home.

My need to stay curious and explore serves more than my branding work. It fills me up as a human. It helps me retain a childlike wonderment. Holding onto that sense of play and curiosity we had as children keeps us lively and energetic, even when we physically age. It allows us not to take anything in this world for granted.

It’s so easy to draw inspiration from our surroundings. I don’t think I will ever lose that ability to be inspired. It’s this cycle of life for me – curiosity, exploration, learning, creativity. As far as I’m concerned, being an explorer is in my DNA. I’ll never stop finding new ways to source my creative spirit.
