Finding Magic in the Macrame
As we near the end of the year, I want to highlight a project from 2023 that means a lot to me. That project is Corda, a jewelry line with gorgeous, handcrafted macrame jewelry. You’ll find everything from bracelets and necklaces to earrings and cuffs.
Fun fact: the owner, Kelli Ronci, lives down the street from me. We’ve been friends ever since we met. Our friendship origin story starts at a retreat in Montana where Kelli was the instructor of a macrame workshop. I created the branding for the retreat.
Fun fact number two: Kelli used to work for Martha Stewart. The Martha Stewart. If you’ve been here before, you know how much I admire Martha. All this to say, Kelli’s aptitude for creating quality work is through the stratosphere. She founded an artisan studio in New Delhi, India, which employs and trains women to craft her creations for a fair living wage.
Kelli is a master multitasker, taking on a lot of the work herself. She’s the true visionary behind this brand. She designs each piece, and the studio in India brings them to life. Additionally, she does her own branding and art photography. I’m convinced there’s nothing she can’t do.
I was privileged to revise the logo and create different sizes for it. I also provided some color palette explorations. If you head over to my site, you can see the before and after logo versions in the case study for Corda.
It’s been a blast not only befriending Kelli but also collaborating with her. She’s such a lovely person and supremely talented. It’s always inspiring, creatively and personally, to work with folks who maximize their full potential.
