MoJo's Top 10 List for Working Remotely at Home
I consider myself lucky because I've been working remotely for a long time now! Happy to share my TOP 10 THINGS I've learned over the years.
If you don't have a home office, create a comfortable work station where you can set up and leave your "stuff" out and about.
Get a comfortable chair and make sure you are set up ergonomically correct!! This is critical to your comfort and your back. You'll be sitting a while so take this seriously.
Surround yourself with some inspirational imagery, books, art... anything!
Make sure you are in a good WIFI zone so connectivity won't drop out.
Good lighting makes a difference so try and be near natural light.
If you mobile phone doesn't work great at home (like me) be sure to have an alternate way of communicating that won't cut out.
Be sure to have at least one backup system in place.
Consider setting up a consistent schedule for each day. For example, on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10-2 I will take calls. Fridays I will do invoicing.
Eat, drink, stretch, exercise regularly to maintain energy.
Don't be distracted by folding laundry or doing other things around the house.
Do these things and set yourself up for success.
Be kind • Be curious • Be inspired
