A Change of Space Hits That Reset Button

As a creative person, there’s nothing worse than feeling stuck on a project. When those artistic juices are stagnant or nonexistent, their effect can trickle over into other parts of our lives. That block is an energy sucker.

During my full-time years, I spent every day at the same desk in the same cubicle. After staying in that repetitive groove for so long, my creativity diminished significantly, and the experience became totally uninspiring.

Then, when I transitioned to working from home, I fell into a similar pattern. Don’t get me wrong; I love my space. However, staying in one spot too long doesn’t bode well for my creativity. I’m someone who finds inspiration from my surroundings, especially nature.

The solution? Change my environment.

Switching up my work spot really helps if I’m procrastinating on a particular project. This includes moving to a different room in the house, spending the day working in a coffee shop, or hitting up a coworking space like The Hivery. A change of scenery can do wonders for your creativity.

Another example is my recent trip to my parents’ house in Colorado. I set up camp in their kitchen to tackle a project. I noticed how easy it was to work and create in a new space. The creative juices flowed, folks.

So, if you’re feeling blocked in your work, try changing your environment. It’s the perfect way to refresh your energy.
